-
- Why did I make this? Well I came across some source by ISO,
- and just felt like programming a nice interface with it.
-
-
- And now for some specs:
- - windows 95/98/NT only
- - multithreaded
- - layer 1,2 : mono, stereo, joint stereo
- audio mpg I (32, 44.1, 48 kHz)
- audio mpg II (16, 22.05, 24 kHz)
- - layer 3 : mono, stereo
- audio mpg I (32, 44.1, 48 kHz)
- - wide range of bitrates
- - miscellanious flags
- - sources: 16 bit raw pcm
- 16 or 8 bit wav pcm
- scsi cdrom source
- - multifile or track select (let your computer do the work at night)
- - pretty slow
- - progress indicator
- - and more... :)
-
- How to get started:
- Very easy. The left pane is the source or input-file.
- 1. Locate your 'wanna-be mpg' file
- 2. Select the frequency/samplingrate of the source
- 3. Select the layer (1, 2 or 3).
- 4. Select a desired bitrate.
- Note: this is the total bitrate! This means that 128kbps
- for a stereo source is the same quality as 64kbps
- for a mono source.
- 5. On the right you can select your destination directory, where
- you want your mpeg-file. The file extension will be changed
- depending on the layer chosen (eg. .mpg .mp2 .mp3)
- 6. Finally click on 'Encode'. Pressing it again will abort the
- proces and NO resume is possible. (Something for later).
- 7. To encode audio CDs, you'll have to have a SCSI-CDROM drive
- or an IDE with advanced Ultra-IDE drivers under win95.
-
- Sorry for all the undocumented options, but I hate writing docs.
- And.. on the internet is all the information you need. (ahum..)
-
-
- If you like or use my mpeg Encoder, please send me
- a nice postcard. Something typical of the country
- or place you live in.
- It's not a lot of effort and you'll make me happy!
